Prayer to
Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen.

A Personal Note

Due to advancing years, I reluctantly asked Bishop Stephen to accept my resignation as the priest in Dunblane and he kindly accepted it.
I felt the parish needed, and deserved, a younger man who could carry out the parish duties more efficiently . He is appointing Fr Louis, a Nigerian priest, as Administrator. An Administrator has all the faculties and responsibilities of a parish priest, but his appointment may not be permanent.
Fr Louis will take up his appointment at the weekend of November 13/14.

I am confident the parishioners of the Holy Family will give him a very warm welcome and all the support he needs. This is especially true for the early stages of his ministry as he tries to find his feet. To simplify arrangements, from this Sunday on, Oct. 24, only the Saturday Vigil Mass will be screened . The other streamed services , Sunday evening devotions, Stations and Mass on Wednesdays and the Friday Holy Hour are postponed until further notice. This will give Fr Louis a free hand to make his own arrangements.
My other request to the Bishop was to be allowed to carry on as the priest in Auchterarder for as long as I am able, to which he kindly agreed.
Please pray that these arrangements by the Bishop will be pleasing to the Lord and blessed by Him—Blessed and a Blessing.

Mgr. Basil.
