St. John Henry Newman–Trusting in God in difficult times
“I will trust Him. Where ever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what he is about . He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. . He may make me feel desolate , make my spirits sink, hide my future from me.
Still, He knows what He is about ”
A Prayer of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
May God bless and keep us and our loved ones at this anxious time
