Visit of the Relics of the St. Therese of Lisieux to Scotland

The Novena to St. Therese began on Wednesday, August 21, and ends on Thursday, August 29, when the relics arrive in Scotland . The Novena Prayer was specially composed for her visit to Scotland.

People may wish to say it every day until the relics are returned.


Visit of the Relics to our diocese

Today, Sunday, Sept  1 : National Pilgrimage to Carfin with the Relics     Solemn  Mass at 3 p.m.

Her relics will be in the Cathedral,  Dundee,  from 4th – 7th September

Wednesday, Sept 4, at 7 pm : Arrival of the relics.  Solemn High Mass.

The Solemn Mass on Wednesday in the Cathedral, Sept 4,  will include the traditional Blessing of the Roses.  Bring your own rose , or buy one at the Cathedral. The Blessed Rose may be left near the casket, or brought back home as a souvenir, or given to a loved  one who may not have been able to attend the Mass.

Thursday, Sept 5 : 10 a.m. Mass in honour of St. Theresa of Calcutta.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and an opportunity to venerate the relics.

1 pm : Mass.    Homily by Canon Udris  ( Expert on the life of St Therese )

7 pm  Vespers and Benediction, followed by all-night Vigil

Young people, and perhaps people not so young, may wish to attend the All-Night Vigil on Thursday, Sept 5. Begins with Vespers and Benediction at 7 pm, various devotions during the night, ending with Mass at 7 a.m.

Friday, Sept 6 : 10 a.m.  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Morning Prayer of the Church  and an opportunity to venerate the relics.

1 pm  Mass with anointing of the Sick.     

7 p.m. : Holy Hour and Benediction.  Address by Canon Udris.

Saturday  10 a.m.  Solemn Mass.    Exposition.   Opportunity to venerate the relics.

4 pm   Liturgy of Thanksgiving.   Relics then depart to Edinburgh.

The Cathedral is five minutes  walk from the railway and bus stations in Dundee.
